Welcome to the second issue of Bending
Light Magazine. When we selected Angst as the second theme for Bending
Light we had no idea what we were getting into. The variety of photographic
interpretations sent to us has been, to say the least, staggering.
Angst resonates deeply with many artists on a range of levels. From
anxiety to apprehension, fear to pain, we all experience our own Angst
and portray it through our art.
In Issue 2 you will be introduced to the artistic methods and photographic
work of our two featured artists: Armindo
Dias and Asya
Schween.
Three intriguing and eye-opening articles are also showcased
in this issue.
Learn more about David J. Nightingale in David
Shirk's interview with the man behind the remarkable Chromasia photoblog. Explore
the difficulties
of photographing strangers with Rachael Ashe in "Overcoming the
Anxiety of Portrait Photography." And let the animal awareness
group Voices
in the Wilderness teach you about the practice of seal
culling in Canada, recently brought into the national spotlight
by the protest of ex-Beatle Paul McCartney and his wife.
We hope that you enjoy the variety of images and articles in this
issue. We certainly enjoyed looking through all the submissions
and working with the artists to present their work to the public.
As always,
our thanks go out to all of the photographers and writers who
have contributed to Bending Light Magazine. This publication would
not
exist without you and we are continually inspired by your prolific
energy.

Submissions are now closed for Issue 3 of Bending Light Magazine.
